CARL will monitor federal research policy, encouraging funding for research, which should address both direct and indirect costs.
National Repository for Publicly Funded Research Data
CARL is a strong proponent for the creation of a national repository for publicly funded research data. A small investment in a national infrastructure for research data management would yield a potentially powerful tool that would centrally store, organize, and permit access to research data collected and preserved digitally across the country so that it can be shared, reanalyzed and applied to new research questions.

CARL is an active member of the Canadian Consortium for Research. Throught the consortium, CARL seeks to advocate on issues related to basic and directed research funding on behalf of researchers from both the Natural and Social Sciences discipline.
