Join us for Advancing Open, a unique (and free) opportunity for the Canadian academic library scholarly communication practitioner community to convene and explore refreshed strategies to foster open scholarship (including open access, open data, and open education) in Canada. Practitioners, who have constant immersion in the open space, are uniquely positioned to consider activities, supports, and priorities at local, regional, and national levels that will advance open scholarship and related activities across Canada.

This workshop is sponsored by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), SPARC, University of Alberta Libraries, Dalhousie University, University of Guelph Library, Mount Saint Vincent University Library, University of Ottawa Library, and University of Saskatchewan Library. The event is being spearheaded by the CARL Open Repositories Working Group’s Community-Building and Engagement Task Group in collaboration with representatives from SPARC and CRKN.

Planning committee members are: Ann Barrett (Dalhousie University), Lise Brin (CARL), Amy Buckland (University of Guelph), Lindsey MacCallum (Mount Saint Vincent University), Rebecca Ross (CRKN), Nick Shockey (SPARC), and Leah Vanderjagt (University of Alberta).
