CARL’s Open Repository Working Group’s Community Building and Engagement Task Force invites you to join us for a session on DSpace, an open-source platform for institutional repositories used by over 3000 institutions worldwide. Dan Sifton (Vancouver Island University) will share his library’s experiences hosting their DSpace repository with a service provider. Mariya Maistrovskaya and Rachel Wang (University of Toronto Libraries) will discuss upgrading from DSpace 5 to 6 while maintaining customizations. Following the presentations, attendees can participate in a facilitated discussion, sharing their own DSpace questions and experiences with colleagues.

Whether you’re curious about open-source software used in other libraries, updating your own DSpace installation, or exploring how to deploy this software in your own institution, we look forward to learning with you!

While this event will take place in English, bilingual moderators will be on hand to help ensure participants are able to contribute in the official language of their choice.
