Call for Early Adopters for the National Shared Repository Infrastructure Service Development Project

March 18, 2024 – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) are seeking early adopters for a collaborative initiative aimed at developing a national repository service infrastructure called ‘Scholaris’. Spearheaded by the University of Toronto Libraries (UTL) through Scholars Portal, this project aims to establish a robust, scalable infrastructure for shared institutional repositories across Canada.

Utilizing the open-source repository software DSpace, Scholaris promises reliable technical hosting, security measures, and comprehensive support services to member institutions of CARL and OCUL, as well as eligible non-member research organizations.

The project is currently seeking early adopters to participate in testing, refining and shaping the development of this national service. Early adopters will play a crucial role in providing feedback, contributing to workflow development and identifying policy needs.

Institutions of all sizes and in different stages of repository development are encouraged to apply, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives and use cases are represented. Interested parties are invited to express their interest by completing this form by March 29, 2024.
