The Canadian Association of Research Libraries seeks expressions of interest from an additional 1-2 representatives from academic libraries across the country to join the Canadian Repository Community of Practice Steering Committee (“Engagement Team”). Members typically serve a two-year term and should be able to commit 5-10 hours per month to advance the work of the team.
Background
The Canadian Repositories Community of Practice Steering Committee brings together committed individuals with a desire to stoke the fires of engagement within the Canadian repositories community and increase the flow of information between its participants. More specifically, it seeks to maintain, encourage, and promote engagement with the Canadian repositories community of practice by organizing community calls, roundtables, workshops, and/or other forms of community engagement, connecting newcomers to pre-existing forums/spaces of the community, and administering the annual repositories survey in collaboration with CARL. More information can be found in the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
Instructions
To apply, please send a brief statement outlining your interest in serving on this group and your experience in the area of repositories to Taleen Aktorosian, CARL Communications and Project Officer, by Friday, June 21st. Members will be selected by the steering committee chair Emily Hopkins and CARL support Taleen Aktorosian with the goal of ensuring diversity of members across institutional size and location; in knowledge, experience and/or responsibilities related to repositories; and career stage. At this time, we welcome interest from individuals from CARL and non-CARL member libraries, as well as individuals from francophone institutions. New members will be confirmed with library directors and announced in July.
