CARL Welcomes Elizabeth Kalbfleisch and Graham Lavender as new Project Officers

April 13, 2023 – CARL is pleased to welcome two new Project Officers: Elizabeth Kalbfleisch and Graham Lavender.

Elizabeth received an MI from University of Toronto in 2022 following years as a researcher and writer in the cultural sector. In her work as an information professional, she also draws on her experience as an academic and art historian, with a PhD in Visual and Cultural Studies from the University of Rochester and having taught Art History and Cultural Studies at McGill, Concordia and Queen’s universities. Most recently, she has been a research associate in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto, working on an NGO-academic collaboration on information-sharing among newcomer communities during the pandemic.

Graham is an academic librarian with experience at several post-secondary institutions, most recently at the Michener Institute of Education at the University Health Network in Toronto. He participates actively with the Ontario Library Association and is currently President of OCULA, the academic division of OLA.

In their roles at CARL, Elizabeth will support the Advancing Research Committee and its working groups, while Graham will support the new Advancing Teaching & Learning Committee and its working groups, including the Open Education Working Group. They will both contribute to communications, including the production of CARL’s weekly news bulletin, the E-Lert.

Graham’s first day was April 3, and Elizabeth will start on April 17.
