October 28, 2020. – The Canadian Web Archives Coalition (CWAC) is excited to announce its 2020-21 webinar series, which will cover a range of topics on web archiving, new developments within the community, and special areas of interest as they emerge.
The first event in this series is a Community Call for Sharing and Coordinating Canadian COVID-19 Web Archiving Efforts #2: A roundtable on collecting practices and scope, and the challenges of working with staff at a distance, and takes place November 10. More events will be announced soon.
We hope these webinars will provide the web archiving community in Canada with the opportunity to learn and share with each other and with colleagues internationally, as well as helping members address specific challenges during these highly unpredictable times, where capturing history as it happens is as important and challenging as ever before.
These webinars will be recorded and posted to CARL’s Youtube Channel as they become available, and information about new webinars will be posted to CARL’s Events page. Information will also be shared via CARL’s Webinars and Community Calls page.
About the Canadian Web Archiving Coalition
Under the auspices of the CARL Digital Preservation Working Group and the Advancing Research Committee, the Canadian Web Archiving Coalition (CWAC) is an inclusive community of practice within Canadian libraries, archives, and other memory institutions engaged or otherwise interested in web archiving. This community explores gaps and opportunities that can be addressed by nationally coordinated strategies, actions, and services, including collaborative collection development, training, infrastructure development, and support for practitioners.
