The Copyright Community of Practice, established in July 2017, provides a space for staff at CARL member and non-member institutions to connect around copyright-related topics of shared interest. With over 50 members, the community meets approximately twice a year outside of other sector events such as ABC Copyright and the OLA Copyright Symposium. While the Community of Practice does not have a formal steering committee, webinars and meetings are staff-led and shaped in consultation with CARL’s Visiting Program Officers or others in the community, ensuring that discussions remain timely, relevant, and grounded in members’ needs.
