The Finance Officers Community of Practice (CoP) is an initiative to foster collaboration, share best practices, and enhance the financial management capabilities of member institutions across Canada. The primary goal is to build a robust network of finance professionals within CARL, facilitating mutual support and knowledge exchange. To achieve this, a Planning Group was established to provide strategic direction and oversight, ensuring the effective communication, resource sharing, and professional development opportunities necessary for the CoP’s success. Moreover, the Planning Group ensures that all activities and initiatives are in alignment with CARL’s strategic objectives.

Membership in both the Planning Group and the Community of Practice is limited to individuals from CARL member institutions and is by invitation only. If you work in a finance-related role at a CARL member library and are interested in joining this CoP, please speak with your library director about being nominated for participation.
