Teaching and Learning Community of Practice

The Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (T&L CoP) was established in 2026 to foster national collaboration among teaching and learning librarians and advance shared initiatives in teaching and learning across research libraries in Canada. The T&L CoP provides a space for practitioners to connect, exchange knowledge and resources, and collaborate on emerging priorities and practices that support teaching and learning in academic libraries. The Community of Practice works in close collaboration with the CARL Advancing Teaching and Learning Committee (ATLC) to help inform and advance national priorities in this area.

The Teaching and Learning Community of Practice Steering Committee supports the development of a strong, connected, and collaborative national network of teaching and learning practitioners in academic libraries. Composed of volunteer teaching and learning librarians from across the CARL network, the Steering Committee works to strengthen national collaboration, promote the sharing and adoption of effective and emerging practices, foster a supportive professional community, and coordinate initiatives in alignment with the priorities of the Advancing Teaching and Learning Committee (ATLC).
