New CARL Resource: Directory of Canadian Digital Preservation Groups
November 5, 2026 – To celebrate World Digital Preservation Day (WDPD), CARL’s Digital Preservation Working Group (DPWG) is pleased to announce the launch of a new community resource: a directory of active digital preservation groups in Canada.
Inspired by last year’s WDPD theme, Celebrating Communities, this bilingual resource is intended to provide an overview of the Canadian digital preservation community’s activities, and to help the community identify areas of potential collaboration. The directory lists committees, working groups, and communities of practice focused on digital preservation, and provides a snapshot of their mandates and projects for 2025-2026. The DPWG plans to review and update this directory every two years. The next update will be in 2028.
The directory is available in English and French on CARL’s Preservation Initiatives page. Community feedback on this first version is most welcome. Please send any questions, additions, or edits to .
