Call for Expressions of Interest – CARL Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Community of Practice

July 11, 2024 – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries’ Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group (CARL EDIWG) invites expressions of interest to join its newly created Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Community of Practice (EDI CoP).

The purpose of the community of practice is to engage library workers based in CARL and non-CARL research libraries, who have a strong interest or functional responsibilities in EDI, and provide a forum to discuss issues, initiatives, challenges and opportunities for collaboration.

The EDI CoP Steering Committee, chaired by Cecilia Tellis and Monique Flaccavento, will support the planning of quarterly community calls.

CARL is committed to providing a welcoming, safe, and harassment-free environment and CoP members will be subject to the CARL Code of Conduct. Sustained engagement is required from all CoP members, who will be expected to come to the meetings prepared to discuss the topics at hand. There will also be an expectation of confidentiality and conversations are not to be shared outside the context of the CoP.

Should you wish to join this community of practice, please fill out the following registration form by September 10, 2024.
