Bursary Opportunities – FLOURISH: BPOC Academic Library Leadership Program

June 19, 2025 – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries is committed to supporting workforce development and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion, and we are pleased to offer a limited number of bursaries to help offset the cost of participation in FLOURISH, a pilot library leadership program designed for participants from BPOC (Black and People of Colour) communities.

This six-day Canadian-focused leadership-mentorship program is designed for mid-career racialized academic librarians in Canada who are looking for purposeful and meaningful pathways to leadership in academic libraries. It will be delivered over a six month period with opening and closing two-day in-person workshops and four virtual gatherings in between.

The bursary is valued at 50% of registration fees (i.e. $1500 of $3000) and may be offered to applicants who would otherwise find it difficult to attend because of financial constraints and/or limited professional development support.

To be considered for a bursary, please include in your application package a statement about how the funds would make a difference in your ability to attend the program. See call for participants for more details about the program and application process.
