December 14, 2023. – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) is pleased to extend the following call for new members of it’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group (EDIWG)
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is an important area for capacity building within CARL’s member libraries. CARL’s EDIWG, in collaboration with CARL Visiting Program Officer for EDI, Aditi Gupta, supports the planning and delivery of CARL’s evolving program of initiatives in this area (See the EDIWG’s Terms of Reference for more details).
Following the completion of the working group’s second two-year mandate, CARL is now seeking to re-confirm current members’ commitment to the working group and to invite new interested candidates to join.
This working group reports to CARL’s Strengthening Capacity Committee (SCC) and is chaired by Selinda Berg, University Librarian at the University of Windsor, and a member of the SCC.
The selection process will endeavour to achieve demographic diversity, as well as diversity of related experience and expertise. Expressions of interest are welcome from CARL and non-CARL institutions.
New members will be invited to join the working group in January 2024.
Expressions of interest which include a short supporting narrative as to qualifications should be sent to Julie Morin, CARL Senior Program Officer (). We also ask that you please inform your University Librarian about your interest in joining this group.
The deadline to submit expressions of interest is January 19, 2024.
