October 31, 2024 – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) is pleased to announce our endorsement of the Coalition for Canadian Digital Heritage (CCDH) Principles. These principles reflect the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, access, impact, and stewardship in advancing equitable and barrier-free access to Canadian digital heritage.
Supporting the CCDH Principles reflects CARL’s commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive digital heritage environment that amplifies diverse voices, strengthens relationships, and builds on existing digitization efforts. Through this endorsement, CARL joins CCDH in championing the need for open and equitable access to Canada’s rich cultural heritage, ensuring that materials of importance to Canadian communities are digitally accessible and preserved for future generations.
